Density Of Keywords

February 6th, 2009

The density of keywords is an indicator of the number of times the selected keyword appears in the web page. But mind you, keywords should not be used, but should be just enough to appear at important places.

If you repeat the keywords in every other word on every line, your site will probably be rejected as an artificial site or spam site.

The density of keywords is always expressed as a percentage of all words of content on a web page.

Suppose you have 100 words on your web page (not including HMTL code used for writing the web page), and you use a keyword for five times in the content. The density of keywords on this page is obtained by simply dividing the total number of keywords, by the total number of words that appear on your web page. So here it is 5 divided by 100 = .05. Because keyword density is a percentage of total words on the page, above multiplied by 100, which is 0.05 x 100 = 5%

The accepted standard for a keyword density is between 3% and 5%, to get recognized by search engines, and you should not exceed.

Remember that this rule applies to each page of your site. It also applies to not only a keyword, but also a set of keywords that relates to another product or service. The density of keywords should always be between 3% and 5%.

Simple steps to check the density:
• Copy and paste the contents of the web page of an individual in a word processing program like Word or Word Perfect.
• Go to the Edit menu and click on “Select All”. Now go to the Tools menu and select “Word Count”. Note the total number of words in the page.
• Now, select “Search” function on the Edit menu. Go to the “Replace” in the tab and type the keyword you are looking for. ‘Replace’ that word with the same word, so you do not change the text.
• When you finish replacing the function, the system will provide a number of words you replaced. This gives the number of times you used the keyword in this page.
• Using all the words on the page and the total number of keywords you can now calculate the density of keywords.

January 30th, 2009

With thousands of web hosting companies in the market, it can be difficult if not impossible to know what hosting companies website really provide an excellent hosting solution at an excellent price. When you create a domain name with a good web hosting company, you can get reports on your traffic and your pages your customers are visiting most often, and many other statistics.

Your provider may charge you a fee for monthly service that ranges from $ 10 or $ 20 more expensive at $ 50.00 per month. Plan to pay between $ 300 and $ 500 per year to your web host.

Always avoid free or very cheap web hosting services, because you may experience episodes of server failures and you’re likely to have limitations in storage, the number of e-mail, FTP, etc.

Make sure your host can accommodate e-commerce and stores, wireless, bogs, forums, chats, online interactive helps and anything you want to add on your site.

Estimate your needs for growth and ensure that this venue may serve you according to your needs. The last thing you want to do is change host half way unless you absolutely must do.

  3. Financial Stability: If you are running very critical operations, we can not afford to be with a hosting company that may not be in business in a few months.

Website Or No Website

January 24th, 2009

Do you want to make money through Internet but you do not have enough experience or capital to start your own online business? You do not have to worry for many online marketing for you the options to start. One of these options, and I say the best, is affiliate marketing.

Affiliate marketing provides first time online retailers like you the chance to market something online even without having your own product to sell. All you have to do is sign with a marketing affiliate, which is usually held by a trader or an online retailer, and begin to choose the products you want to promote. As an affiliate, you are paid by the merchant for your services on a commission basis, which is whenever you have directed a visitor to the site and the visitor buys something done.

Become a member of a marketing program is often quick and easy, and for most affiliate programs, registration is also free. But despite these and all the benefits promised by affiliate programs, many people are still reluctant to do affiliate marketing. One reason why many people remain hesitant is the lack of a website to start marketing his affiliate products with. Which brings us to the question of whether a site is required or necessary in affiliate marketing or not.

Many people say that they can do affiliate marketing even without a website to get started. In fact, we can really start promoting and marketing its products in the affiliate, even without a website and there are many ways on how this can be done. In fact, many marketing strategies of affiliation that leads to success can exist without a website. These strategies of e-mail marketing, excluding promotions, writing e-books, writing ezines and engaging in online discussions like forums, chats, forums and more.

* Email Marketing

Email marketing, or maintaining email lists, is the most popular marketing strategy of affiliation that does not require the subsidiary to maintain a website. In this marketing strategy of affiliation, what you do is maintain a list of e-mail announcements of your potential customers and provide them with articles that are relevant with the affiliate products and programs are promoting. Articles that you provide to your contacts should not always be promotional, many people find this type of email annoying. On the contrary, it would be better if you give them something just information and classified ads that link to your site.

* Offline Promotion

There are many ways on how you can promote your membership online. Among the means used for such promotions are small ads, brochures and leaflets. Classifieds generally work better compared to the other two because classified ads in magazines are often a wider audience.

* Writing Free e-books

If you have a talent in writing, writing an eBook can be the best way for you to promote your products affiliate in the absence of a genuine website. Just like in emails and newsletters, your readers to better appreciate your e-book, if it is not too promotional but rather informative. Be sure, however, to make the contents of your e-books compared to the affiliate products you are promoting. And, as in email marketing, you can just place text ads or banners around the end of your e-book that links to the site.

* Writing Free Ezines

Ezines are publications or articles that aim to inform individuals about a particular topic. If you do not have a website and want to be affiliated, you can use ezines and promote your affiliate products or to insert links to your site. If you have a site, your ezine article may make the job well done that the content of your site. But since you have no website, you can submit your free ezine articles to various websites that hosts ezines, like goarticles.com, ezinearticles.com and others.

* Online discussions (Forums, Chats, Forums, etc)

With or without content, you can not ignore online discussions because they are major sites for the marketing of your subsidiary. In discussions, forums, bulletin boards and discussion forums on topics related to your products, you can easily find people who are interested in, may want  the products you are promoting.

With all these strategies, it appears that one may not really need a website to start marketing his affiliate products and promoting his affiliate programs. Well, from an affiliate program of a website in may not be easy, but to succeed in affiliate marketing without a website is another thing. Although there may indeed have an enormous success in affiliate marketing even without a website, it is a rare instance that “newbies” like you can reach the same level of success.

Having a website is not a prerequisite for entering into an affiliate program, unless the owner, should you have one. But if so, I recommend that you always have for you a website, if not now then maybe at a later time. Having a website creates a lot of advantages in affiliate marketing. For one, it offers a creative place where you can promote not only one of your products, but all members of your affiliated products. With a website you can also advertise your products, affiliate to a wider market.

Again, having a website is not a requirement in affiliate marketing. But with the benefits that can provide a website, I prefer to have one for myself and make affiliate marketing a lot easier for me.

Increase Website Rank

December 24th, 2008

The methods employed to increase your search engine rankings may seem like rocket science to you, so you have probably avoided dealing with this issue. I am here to tell you – the time has come to face your website! A high search engine ranking for your website is so essential that if you have the slightest desire to actually succeed in your business, there is no way you can continue to avoid this issue.

At least 85% of people looking for goods and services on the Internet find websites through search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and MSN. The idea of optimizing your pages for high search engine rankings is to attract targeted customers to your site who will be more than likely to make a purchase. The higher your page comes up in search engine results, the greater the traffic that is directed to your website. That’s what search engine optimization is about.

You can immerse yourself in all the technical information available online to figure out how to optimize your web pages to achieve higher rankings. Or you can look at a few simple items on your pages, make some small adjustments, and most likely see improved rankings quite rapidly. The first item you should examine is the title bar on your homepage.

The title bar is the colored bar at the top of the page.  Look at the words that appear there when you access your home page. To increase search engine rankings, the words on your homepage’s title bar should include the most important keywords or phrases, one of which would include your company name.

Then click on all your links and examine the title bars on the pages you access. Each title bar on every single page of your site should contain the most important keywords and sentences taken from the page itself. However, avoid very long strings of keywords, keeping them to six words or less. Avoid repeating keywords more than once in the title bars, and make sure that identical words are not next to each other.

The next item to put under your microscope is your website content. Search engines generally list sites that contain quality content rather than scintillating graphics. The text on your site must contain the most important keywords – The words that potential customers will be typing into search engines to find your site.

Aim to have around 250 words on each page, but if this is not desirable due to your design, aim for at least 100 carefully chosen words. If you want to achieve a high ranking on search engines, this text is essential. However, the search engines must be able to read the text, meaning that the text must be in HTML and not graphic format. To find out if your text is in HTML  format, take your cursor and try to highlight a word or two. If you are able to do this, the text is HTML. If the text will not highlight, it is probably in graphic form. In this case, ask your webmaster to change the text into HTML format in order to increase your search engine rankings.

Next we come to what is called meta tags. I know this sounds like something out of science fiction, but it is really just simple code. Many people believe that meta tags are the key to high search engine rankings, but in reality, they only have a limited effect. Still, it’s worth adding them in the event that a search engine will use meta tags in their ranking formula.

To find out if your page is set up with meta tags, you must the access code. To do this, click the “view” button on the browser menu bar, and select “source.” This will pull up a window revealing the underlying code that created the page. If there are meta tags, they usually appear near the top of the window. For example, a meta tag would read: meta name = “keywords” content =. If you do not find code that reads like this, ask your webmaster to put them in. This may not do much for your search engine rankings, but any little boost helps.

Lastly, we come to the issue of link popularity. This is a factor that is  extremely important in terms of search engine rankings. Almost all search engines use link popularity to rank your website. Link popularity is based on the quality of the sites you have linked to from your links page.

If you type in “free link popularity check” in a popular search engine, the search engine will then show you what sites are linked to your site. In the case that there are not many sites linked up to yours, or that the sites that are linked up have low search engine rankings, consider launching a link popularity campaign. Essentially, this entails contacting quality sites and requesting that they exchange links with your site. Of course, this requires checking out the rankings of the websites you want to link up with. Linking to popular, quality sites not only boosts your search engine ranking, but it also directs more quality traffic to your website.

Search engine rankings are extremely important for a successful Internet marketing campaign. Before you go out and hire a search engine  optimization company, try taking some of the simple steps listed above, and see if you can not boost your rankings yourself. Do not ever ignore this all-important factor in Internet marketing. Remember, the higher your search engine ranking, the more quality customers will be directed your way.
